FAA grants American Airlines approval to use iPads on all flights

Six months after receiving approval from the FAA to test of iPads as replacements for traditional paper flight charts, American Airlines is set to be the first commercial carrier to use Apple's device in all phases of flight.

Citing an unnamed source, ZDNet reported on Tuesday that American Airlines (AA) will become the first airline in the world to have FAA approval to use iPads as digital flight manual readers, and will begin replacing traditional paper charts on Friday.

CentOS 6.1 Released

After Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.1 released in May 19, 2011. Finally, CentOS 6.1 which is an Enterprise Linux distribution based on the freely available sources from RHEL, released in December 9, 2011.

Bye bye Windows Phone, Hello iPhone!!

I always hope that Microsoft can do better than this but it looks like I hope too much. Even until now, Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 or what Microsoft calls "Mango" as a codename can't really even compare to iPhone in just a very basic function.

At the time iPhone first released in 2007, I thought that iPhone will not success because of many things. Some thing like

1.    Poor battery performance that you can use it for just a single day compare to many phones at that time that can be used at least 3 days or even a week.

Microsoft: NFC already supported in Windows Phone

Microsoft has told TechRadar that its current Windows Phone 7.5 platform already supports Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, but no manufacturer has enabled it as yet.

Will Coleman, developer evangelist and product manager at Microsoft UK, told us that it was simply a matter of time before the technology was harnessed by manufacturers in Windows Phone devices:

"As far as I'm aware, NFC is supported by [Windows Phone], but needs to be enabled by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). So, if any OEM wants to enable it, that can be done by all means."

Windows 8 apps can be deleted remotely by Microsoft

Windows 8 will certainly contain a number of new features and one of them is being set up as a safety net against any Windows 8 apps that might cause a security risk. In the Terms of Use document posted up for the upcoming Windows Store feature, Microsoft says that any application purchased and downloaded from the store can be disabled or even deleted from Windows 8 remotely by the company.
